Carolina Girl...Best in the World!

Lauren was a UNC cheerleader for Halloween. Robbie's mother, Karen, gave Lauren the cheerleading outfit and I thought it would be the perfect costume. We added hair bows, tarheel feet tattoos and pom pom's around her wrists. I might say...she was so sinkin' cute all decked out in carolina blue!

Getting ready to go trick-or-treating!

First, we went to my friend Michelle's house. We stopped by to cheer her up since she is recovering from surgery. Her daughter Ryleigh was a princess. They were so cute together.

On our way to GiGi and Papa's house. Lauren is saying "Trick-or-Treat!"

She got some lollipops, bananas and ravioli. Yummy! You know Lauren always gets some good food at GiGi and Papa's house!

Next, we headed to Nana and Poppy's (my parents) house. Lauren knocked on the door and to our surprise a sumo wrestler opened the door. Lauren was not sure how to react. She kept backing up away from Poppy. Once inside, Poppy gave us a few poses, which eventually made Lauren cry so he had to ditch the costume! Nana was there videotaping to get the experience on tape! She was happier when she got her treat...an oatmeal raisin cake!

Then we headed to Grandma and Granddad's (Robbie's parents) house. Lauren got some pretzles, candy corn and a card with $2 for her second Halloween. They also had another surprise that daddy did not know...a Maryland Terrapins jacket. Granddad is a Maryland fan! Daddy said Maryland red is ok...just not NC State red!

Lauren saying..."Shhhh!"

We ended our night by stopping by Aunt Dottie and Uncle Phil's (Robbie's aunt and uncle) house. They had one of Lauren's favorites...Gripz Cheez'It crackers.

All in all, it was a great Halloween. It was so cute watching Lauren hold out her bag, say trick-or-treat and the ultimate..."Raa-Raa!"

Lets Go Panthers!

Robbie and I went to our first NFL Carolina Panters game. It was so much fun...except for the drive. Driving 10 hours in one day is not my cup of tea. We watched the Panthers play the 49ers. Neither team is having a winning season. Our poor Panthers had not won a game until...our game! YAHOO! It was a great game. Robbie says it is going to be the Panthers one and only win this season...we will see! We went to the game with Robbie's brother Morgan...who is a 49ers fan. We had fun cracking jokes at each other. To top it all off...the weather was beautiful!

Misc. Pictures

Robbie's mom Karen (Grandma) and I took Lauren to Morehead City. We went to the Seafood Festival. It was crowded but we had a great time. Here is a picture of them walking after the festival.

Lauren at her friend Cougar's birthday party! She enjoyed the chocolate and bouncy!

High Waters from Extratropical Storm Nicole

It is so funny how Atlantic storms are. We brace for Hurricane Igor, who was a strong Category 4. It brushed our coast as a Category 1. We braced for the worst...which felt like nothing...we were lucky! Then came Extratropical Storm Nicole and what do we get...A FLOOD! Robbie and I headed out to Walmart and took some shots on our way. I have never seen our area flood like it did. It was crazy and a tad bit scary at times! It rained so much that it completely filled Robbie's boat. The news said our area received 21 inches in a day and a half. We only had two minor leaks in our house. There were others in the county whose homes were flooded and many roads were washed out. Once again...we were lucky!
