Labor Day!

The weather for the Labor Day holiday was BEAUTIFUL! We played a lot outside. It was in the 80's with a slight breeze. It couldn't have been more perfect!

She spent Saturday playing in her pool!

On Sunday, we made our way to Hammock's Beach to do some shelling!

I'm ready to find some shells!

Family Day!

Robbie and I thought it would be a great idea for a "Family Day" before I headed back to school. We started our day off by having breakfast at McDonalds. Then we headed to the Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.

Question: What is the benefit of having your daddy/husband, who is a captain and is on the water 24/7, accompany you to the aquarium?

Answer: You do not have to waste your time reading the information signs because... he knows the names of ALL of the fish and ALL of the information about them!!! YES!!!

I thought these replicas of fish were cool looking. Lauren didn't want any part of the them though!

After we toured the aquarium we stopped by the gift shop where Lauren picked out her new water bottle with "fishes" on it. We then headed to Atlantic Beach to look at Fort Macon. I have not seen it in years. On the way Lauren fell asleep so we continued to take a drive to Beaufort. Robbie showed me where he weighs in some fish during some local tournaments. It was nice to just drive. For lunch, we ate at the Sanitary Restaurant. It was delicious! We then decided to take Lauren to a local park in Morehead City. It was so cool!

We ended our afternoon by stopping by my school so I could get the key to my classroom. I was off to work the next day to start preparing my room! Where did the summer go...

A Day at the Base Beach

It is always a great day when we get a chance to go to the Base Beach. Grandy made $10 sandwiches so it was not a great day but an awesome day! Adam was lucky to have off so him and his friend Josh joined us. Aunt Jayne was still in town. I don't know how I missed photo opts of her and Josh but I will get you both next time!

July 12, 2010 was a wondeful day in what Robbie calls PARADISE...aka Hammocks Beach! We made our little spot on a nearby sandbar. We had it all to ourselves!
